Citing to statistics

For medical articles, it's recommended not to use primary sources. But what about plain statistics, such as from the CDC? I didn't see anything about citing to statistics on the Identifying reliable sources (medicine) page. Thank you.

Statistics of that sort aren't really biomedical information, so it it shouldn't fall under the medical sources guidelines, just the normal reliable sources guidelines. And the CDC is an excellent general source.
