Sometimes if an editor sees your student's draft content and feels it is acceptable for the mainspace they will move the article for your student. While this isn't common practice, it is not against the rules of Wikipedia. The editor making the move should leave a note for your student on their talk page explaining why they moved it. If the student is still actively working on it, they may continue to do so at the article (rather than on the sandbox). If they, or you, feel the article needs substantial work and it is being actively worked on, you may move the article back to the sandbox or ask your content expert to move it for you.

If the content is not complete, but your student is not in the process of making major changes to the article, it is OK that it is now an article. All Wikipedia articles are in various stages of completion and a first step toward coverage of a subject is better for readers
