group project

I want my students to create/expand wiki pages on a few of the literary works we are studying in our course. This is conceived of as a group project - @6 groups of 6 students, each working on one literary work to create the page.

How to do editing training in this context for the students? As a group or as individuals?

Also, any feedback / advice about the viability of a group of 6 working on one wiki page will be appreciated.

Hi there! Thanks for your question.

In general, each student will be required to create their own unique Wikipedia username, enroll in the course dashboard you create, and take all of the trainings individually. That way, you can assess each student on their own for training completion.

As students work together to draft an article, you should have each group select a "group lead" who's sandbox space (or draft space) the draft will be collected in. Private Sandbox spaces can be accessed by any Wikipedia user, so group members can always access the draft, update it, and save it. The sandbox, like all Wikipedia pages, will also track each edit made to the page. So as an instructor, you can see all the students who worked on the draft if you select the "view history" tab.
